Foum Viewing Question

Is there a way to permanently set my view of the forum to "decending" rather than "ascending" ?
I would like to see latest replys at the top of the list

This has come up in the past, so I spent a bit of time researching. It appears that the Forum software does not have a feature to permit reversing the sort order of posts. There is a published code modification that I might try if I get brave, but I am not that brave right now. To help things a bit, I have expanded the number of posts per page from 15 to 100. I find for myself, it is easy enough to scroll to the bottom of a page to see the most recent posts, but if I have to navigate the little "next page" widget it bugs me. So... not a real solution, but it may reduce the irritation a bit.

Seconds after I wrote that message I found the solution.

1) Log in to the forum
2) Navigate to the "User Control Panel". It is a link on the left hand side, just under the PHPBB banner.
3) Select the "Board Preferences" tab.
4) Select "Edit Display Options"
5) Change the "Display Post Order Direction" from "Ascending" to "Descending"

Voila. Your default post order is changed.
