Hi I was looking at both a 37 alcan and allwest. when you look at the alcan the floor level where you drive is lower than that of the allwest, not did they sink the allwest lower level deeper in the bow or raise the cab and floor in the allwest. Im pretty sure its a raised cab but I'm going buy pictures.
reason is if I buy an alcan I would want to raise the height to make the cuddy height higher for sleeping.
anyone know wow that floor structure ia made and how difficult it would be to raise?

They definitely raised the pilothouse on the the Alwest models. You can see the change by looking at the outside deck. The Alcan deck is flat from back to front whereas the Alwest has a step up from the back cockpit onto the side decks. It's about an 8" change of height in the deck with a corresponding change in the floor of the pilothouse.
With respect to floor construction, I know for sure that the Alwest is 2x4 wood joists with a 1/2" plywood floor. I am pretty sure the Alcan is the same. One source of information you might find helpful is the blueprints for the Alcan found in the technical section of the web site

One of the owners re-did the interior to make a cuddy below the pilot house. He rebuilt the port-side seating and raised it up a little to create a stand-up height entry into the cuddy, but still leaving regular ceiling height on the starboard side of the pilot-house. Unfortunately I don't have pictures, but I have to acknowledge it was incredibly creative. That said, I don't think it was an easy job.
