Wanted: AQ170 Engine & 270 Outdrive

I'm looking for "spare parts" . . . .

Catherine Ann will likely stay with her original power (unless some really good deal comes along)
So I am looking to buy at least one rebuildable engine and outdrive, to have as spares.

The AQ170 is the straight 6 Volvo B30 engine. There are A,B and C versions. Any are acceptable.
These were the "standard" engines in most Alcan and Alwest 370 boats.
The chronic problem with these engines is a crack in the head, between the intake and the exhaust valve seats, so condition of the head is critical to value of the engine for rebuilding.

If someone has repowered and still has, or knows the whereabouts of, the original engines and outdrives, please let me know.
. . . Preferably someone located in southern Ontario.

Hi,

We have two Volvo 6 cylinder original Alcan engines with Volvo outdrives. We have repowered last summer and the two engines are presently stored at our mechanic's shop. Both were functional and in generally good shape when they were removed. Engines are in the Brockville area.

We'll get back to you with more details on the engines.

So . . . I bought the engines, outdrives . . . and everything in between, from Jo-Ann & Gaetan
Many of these parts I will obviously keep, but many others are "available".
If you have 165/170 Volvo B30 engines with 250/270 outdrives and need parts, let me know.

I'm still trying to figure out how much its going o cost to transport the boat thus the purchase is pending - I'll send you pictures if/ when the deal gets firmed up.
