Hull Number

Some of you state your hull number in your profiles on the registration page. Where do you find this number?
Has anyone ever figured out how many Alcan/Alwest/Alloy/Whatever were made? I've scoured the net as best I can but find very little history on our boats.

For most of these boats, the hull number is on the inside of the transom, in the middle, close to the deck. It may be obscured by the bundle of wires coming together at the grounding block.
One of the reasons to develop this site was to answer the very question you ask about the history. I am piecing together the story bit by bit. At this time, I think that the numbers look something like
Alcan 370 ~200
Alwest 370 ~300
Alloy ?
Sea Villa ?
Chimo ?
However, this is not based on factual evidence, it is more like the beginning of CSI, where we know there was a murder, but we have not run the DNA analysis.

I have been curious about the hull numbers as well. My 30' has them on the inside of the transom on one of the "L" beams.
I have a 15 with a 1988 below it. The numbers don't seem to have much continuity judging from some others on the registry.
This is a sample from the registry:
290 - HUE16CW4303
300 - 15 1988
370 - 370-0-108
370 - 10D49673
370 - 37071156
370 - FLZH8684E769
420 - 2157-27
Who knows what they translate to ???

Let us not forget to put the Alcan 290 on that list.
I have a plate on the underside of the steering station and will get the info. this weekend.
Otherwise i admit to having removed my registration number on the side of the hull from the last paint job. the intent is to put it back as well as give the boat her name. One of the many items on the to do list.
