Ok Terry I'll play along.

Eboness was named by my mother. When my step-father was the owner and mom and him where re-painting it, they changed the colour from white/blue to black/cream. Dad wanted to re-name his Alcan and several names came up, but in the end mom decided to combine ebony, for black and the word princess. "Eboness". As for funny names, here is one I've seen on a sail boat, "Passing Wind" and believe it or not the dingy was named, "Little Fart". Oh and this one, "AFEWCA" pronounced, AHH FEW CAAA. The owners wife said it stands for, "Another F__king Expense We Can't Afford".

Unusual boat names = "Harvey Dock Banger" [well named according to the Marina]! Another,
"Broadloom" - a compromise - he wanted a boat and she wanted new rugs in the house.
Brian - SIOUX
